Please save the date for 4th annual LOVE PARADE

We love a Love Parade!

Come feel the love with Fluid Movement and the 8th Annual Transmodern Festival, Sunday, May 1, 2011 !

Pedestrian Services Exquisite is a site-specific free afternoon program exploring the public spaces in Baltimore . This years PSE takes us back to the streets surrounding the H&H building with an urban safari of the nooks and crannies around Baltimore ’s lower mid-town. Expect an afternoon of extraordinary situations, performances, installations, excursions, and tours capped off with the Love Parade by Fluid Movement.

Fluid Movement will set up a station World Headquarters (in the rear), stocked with balloon hats, bridesmaid dresses, and other spectacular decorations.  Everyone is encouraged to deck themselves out, wear their heart on their sleeve, and feel the LOVE.  The afternoon will culminate in a Love Parade, led by the Barrage Band Orchestra and featuring YOU, your kids, friends, and neighbors!

Transmodern is a festival of provocative works by cultural experimenters from Baltimore and the World. The artists of the 8th Annual Transmodern Festival defy traditional genres and embrace radical innovation through transmedia, clashes of organic vs. artificial intelligence, psychogeography, dislocation of consensus reality, real politic and collective cultural action.

An aerobic happening on wheels!

A regular guy wakes from a strange dream locked in a chair that is part dentist and part MRI. He finds that he is the center of an international plot to reveal ancient Viking secrets about traveling through worm holes! His doctors, with the help from a band of “bond girl” spies, trick our hero into revealing the secret locked inside his mind. Once the secret is revealed, anything can happen and does when the whole show ends up doing an ancient aerobics routine and is transported across state lines!

Hoops, Milkmaids, and vintage dresses! woop woop..i mean hoop hoop!

It’s the 150th anniversary celebration of Druid Hill Park and Fluid Movement will be there to hoop it up!  There will be hooping races & contests, dress up, face painting, milkmaids and general shenanigans. So come out and support your local parks, peeps and performers.

Join the adventure… Come sail away to ancient Greece with the Legendary Greek hero on his perilous quest to find the Golden Fleece as only Fluid Movement can tell it.  Replete with battles against a skeleton army a talking masthead and the glittery costumes and swimming you’ve come to expect.

Directions and Parking info for Sunday’s Love Parade:
The closest address for where the action will be is 1010 Hull St, 21230. Directions: take Key Highway past AVAM, past Domino Sugar and Under Armour. There will be 2 parking lots,
one on left before Hull St ( the Tide Point complex lot) and one that you could access by turning right on to Hull and then left into the lot.

Tours and performances start at 12 noon till 3pm
Love Parade starting at 3pm at the bottom of Hull Street, near the water.

To get to the Fluid Movement “booth”, walk to the bottom of Hull Street and turn left, toward the boardwalk. We will be on the grass near the Immigration Memorial, on the left. (look for the balloons)
